Lymphology knows no boundaries!
For this reason, GUELTIG LYMPHOLOGY training and consulting is now offering specialized Lymphology courses for medical doctors and physiotherapists in Kyiv, Ukraine.
These courses aim to share expertise and foster better care for patients worldwide, even in these challenging times of war.
The program, organized in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Academy in Kyiv, is based on the internationally recognized „Valid Method“ of Complete Decongestive Physiotherapy (CDT) and adheres to the highest scientific standards and guidelines. The course content covers fundamental topics such as Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology, with a special focus on chronic lymphedema, which frequently develops as a result of cancer treatment.
A highlight of the courses includes live demonstrations with patients:
- A patient with secondary arm and breast lymphedema after cancer treatment successfully lost over 1.8 liters of fluid in only 5 CDT treatments.
- A patient with primary lymphedema experienced a reduction of over 3.2 liters within five treatments.
The treatment techniques include a synergistic combination of Manual Lymph Drainage, Lymph Taping, Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (IPC – Lymphamat Company Boesl), and lymphological compression bandages.
The compression bandage materials Mobiderm and Mobiderm-Autofit, provided by the company Thuasne, ensure a high micromassage effect lasting nearly 24 hours. Mobiderm-Autofit can also be partially applied by the patients themselves.
To ensure accessibility for all participants, course materials are provided in Ukrainian, and all sessions are simultaneously translated from English into Ukrainian by two experienced medical doctors.
The program integrates practical, hands-on patient demonstrations with theoretical knowledge, enabling participants to apply these techniques in their own practices effectively.
All participants were enthusiastic, and every (!) participant successfully passed the final examination.
By expanding into Kyiv, GUELTIG LYMPHOLOGY continues its mission to share expertise, enhance professional education, and improve care for patients worldwide. Further we are planning following courses in Lymphology and CDT and information conferences for patients and congresses for all medical experts like we are realizing in other countries.
